MoonLake, sometimes known as Beury's Grove, was originally created in the 1920s by Harvey Beury and his wifeAlice and functioned as a popular summer resort with swimming, boating, fishing, etc.Today, Moon Lake is managed by the property owners who are members of the Moon Lake Association (MLA).MLA is a community-owned and operated organization with an elected set of Board Members.As a member of the Moon Lake Association, you are in the company of the dedicated lovers of this tinyman-made lake that has been touching lives for nearly one hundred years.Each of us has been drawn to this place for our own special reasons and traveled our own special journey toget here. For some, this little lake has been a part of childhoods, romantic youths and coming-of-age. Forothers, it is a new journey where future experiences will be built.We welcome all those who wish to join our community and look forward to spending time enjoying . Join in fee $7,000. Yearly fee $500. Moon Lake Association provides the following privileges to its full membership.1. A Member has full, equal vote with all other members, in all business conducted at the Association'syearly General Membership meeting. A Certificate entitles its owner(s) to one vote.2. A Member is entitled to serve on the Moon Lake Association Board of Directors, the unpaid, volunteerbody elected by the membership and conducts the general and routine business of the Association.3. A member has free use and access to any Association communal grounds. The walkway surroundingthe lake, footbridge, walking trails.4. A member has free use of the Pavilion and area for private events subject to the rules for use.5. A member has free use of the lake for fishing, swimming and small craft boating.6. A member is welcomed into a small community of like-minded cottage owners who care deeply aboutMoon Lake.7. A Member loses their membership eligibility by selling their property; failing to remain current withDues and Assessment or being suspended or expelled for cause by the Association.8. Non-member residents of the Grove are restricted to their property, are not permitted to use any ofthe Lake's facilities and have no input in Association business. Non-member residents of the Grove areexpected to financially support the Association's expenses for snow removal and otherwise maintainingthe roads of the Park.1. Membership in the Association is voluntary. Deeds contain no Association related clauses.2. A member must own property within the plot of the Moon Lake Association. (The Grove)3. A member shall be current on all payments of Assessments and Dues.4. A member shall be in good standing and compliant with all By Laws, Rules & Regulations of the Association.5. New members shall pay a one-time Membership Assessment of Seven ($7,000.00) Dollars.6. A Member shall pay an annual dues (ex: 2022 dues are $500.00). The Board has the authority to raise theamount by showing justification to General Membership.7. A Member is encouraged to participate in work days on Assoc. grounds and invited to attend anyMembership Activities.8. A Member shall be issued a Certificate denoting their membership in the Association. Those current in apayment plan leading to a Certificate shall be entitled to the normal benefits of a certificated Member.However, a lapse in payments will lead to suspension of all member benefits.9. A Membership Certificate may be transferred when the property is transferred.There is a mandatory road maintenance fee currently $350 yearly.
