Welcome to the Rossiter-Little house, generally considered to be the oldest house in Sparta and in Middle Georgia. Built in 1797 by Dr. Timothy Rossiter, a surgeon serving under George Washington during the Revolutionary War, it has been lovingly and authentically restored and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The main part of the house is built in the New England saltbox design with a later addition, during the Empire period, of the two projecting wings, with a gallery porch between, believed to date to c1860. Original materials include the fireplace mantels, heart of pine floors, interior walls and ceilings of either hand cut boards or plaster and lath. It comes furnished with stunning period antiques.
